What’s the Competition Like?
Quizzers compete in regularly scheduled meets (every 6 weeks or so) against teams from other churches. A quiz match consists of 20 questions with values of 10, 20, or 30 points each. In a quiz match, two teams of up to 3 quizzers (with up to 3 substitutes) each sit at the quizzing table. Using an electronic quiz box system, each quizzer has their own quiz pad so they can “beat others to the buzzer” and earn the right to answer the question. The team with the higher amount of points wins the match and the individual scores are recognized as well. Additionally, an element of debate is introduced where teams can “contest” the correctness of their answer or the incorrectness of the other team.
